Dave has been writing songs and composing music for as long as he can remember and has enjoyed success as a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist since forming eclectic rock/pop group Surging Waves in Suzhou in 2011. Their third album “Harmonic Rush was released in May 2015, and can be heard here:
Dave also performs and records regularly as a solo artist, and this track ,"The Machines Are Taking Over" was the result of a successful experiment with a loop pedal and an acoustic guitar, and inspired by similar concepts explored by countless awesome sci-fi movies and a growing sense of the reality of how far our lives have already been taken over by machines!
Sometimes, doesn’t it feel a little strange
Could your whole life be pre-arranged?
Ever wondered why?
Who’s never wondered why
I’ll tell you the answer sister brother it’s just because
The machines are taking over
Yes my friend the machines are taking over
Deny it if you will
Go off and check your phone
Jerking off to web porn when you’re all alone
But the machines are taking over
I visualise a time, when we will be to robots what dogs are to humans, and guess what; I’m rooting for the machines!
Soon silence will have passed into legend. Man has turned his back on silence.
Our technology, sweet technology, the machines are part of our humanity.
Our Technology, sweet technology, the machines are taking over
Yes my friend the machines are taking over
Deny it if you will
Go off and check your phone
Jerking off to web porn when you’re all alone
But the machines are taking over
